The Last Dance

The timing of Michael Jordan's 10-part documentary, 'The Last Dance' couldn't have been more perfect. An unparalleled distraction from the real world, and a nostalgic story of the greatest basketball player to ever live.

The documentary of the year uncovered what has been a mystery for so long. No doubt, we can put to bed the unquestioned similarities between Bulls GM Jerry Krause and 'Space Jam's' Mr. Swackhammer.

Short jokes aside, MJ reminded everyone what it means to be a champion. Heart, desire, passion, no 3rd place medals here! Jordan always brought the intangible, his mind; affirming greatness and willing his team to victory. It takes skill to remain calm and locked-in, even as your world is crumbling down.

"I pulled people along when they didn't want to be pulled, I challenged people when they didn't want to be challenged. I earned that right ... Winning has a price and leadership has a price." - Michael Jordan

While Jordan's life has been filled with distractions, not all of them would be considered negative. Mob and Gambling ties are all speculation, but did anyone separate work from leisure better than Dennis Rodman? A rock-star on and off the court! You have to give Rodman credit, he coined "Mental Health Days" before they were cool. 'The Last Dance' was a perfect re-introduction to a young generation that missed his top notch tom-foolery.

A beautiful documentary to encapsulate a legendary man. Bath Ruth said it best, "Heroes get remembered, but legends never die." That's why, when we all think about COVID in 5 years, it's going to be 'The Last Dance' and not 'Tiger King' that will to come to mind.
